Bengaluru days

To me Bengaluru has never been a city which I knew a lot though I had stayed here visiting it so many times or transitted its beautiful airport .

I still remember my first visit as a teen schoolboy ,I was taken along by a family friend  whose childhood was here and his elder brother still stayed and worked there .

we went by train from Madras and landed in morning in an overnite train though those days Brindhavan express was famous .

we were met in station by the dearest childhood friend of the chettan who took me ,for two days Nandu I think his name was stayed with us till he saw us back in train to Madras,

Nandu was a kannadiga and lived in lower middle class surroundings we did go to his house once in the time .

Rest of time we stayed in the chettans elder brothers room in a kamath hotel .

we were out most time.

some things I remember was

I liked Bangalore

( no Chennai bengaluru Mumbai those days )

it was chilly all the time

Traffic was slow and silent unlike today

The ulsoor lake Brigade road and Majestic circle were my favourite .

It was  not all the shiny electronic youth iconic pub laden traffic blocked Bengaluru of today .

I loved the masala dosas though not like the Benne dosas of MTR or Vidhardhi bhavans .

The present craze Rameswaram cafe has its clone in Cochin and thier podi strewn idlis and thick small Benne masala dosas and standing in lines to buy tokens and eating food puts me off .

But Bengaluru wins on one count its PUBS  they are out of this world .

yesterday we went to one OIY in far off Ennore which our Uber took 1.5 hours to move in snail pace .

its a pub based on the Santorini one in Greece widely strewn with pools rivulets tables out and in under festoons and a linear bar filled with liquid goodies and smart barmen .

The prices were moderate cocktails 550 to 600 and drinks @ to thier cost  .

Starters and food was truly yummy above all the ambience  was great music not unpleasant crowds were mannered and we enjoyed the evening with around approx 2000 bucks per head being the damages .

I defintely need to pub crawl Bengaluru again .

We stayed up a hill in Iskhon guest house and it was divine .

Bengaluru had rains and I could have brought a  jacket but it wasnt uncomfortable .

We can be proud of Bengaluru a real happening place with plenty of fun though traffic woes torture its cirizens .

I even knew I could learn Kannada in no time if I stay here its a lovely language.

This is a feather of peace to some of my FB friends who got angry with my kannada imposition posts .

I truly love karnataka its culture cuisine people

cheers to that .

Though I did not meet a very close friend this time will make it up later and some dear friends and relatives too .

Transport is an issue

Hope public transport improves .
