We saw Meenakshi Sundareswar a Hindi film with Tamil charachters and tamil culture based in Madurai and Bengaluru .
All the creative people are from north India including actors .
Though the social media from down south accused the film as a biased and artiviral film based on shallow pereceptions of the south Indian way of life from those in North .
I did not feel so .
For one either in south or north of India or for that matter any part of the country we do not have uniform sets of people with similar culture as demographic blocks
How boring ! It would be then .
The spotless vestis, the sacred mark on the forehead of the sqaure hero ,and the kanchipuram silk sarees of its ladies, are blamed by many Tamils as they are not worn by all all the time as northis think we do .
Of course not , but guys this is about one family and mostly a very rich orthodox family from Madurai and mostly showing festival or wedding scenes definitely torn jeans would get worser reactions from your kind .
Whats wrong in showcasing an orthodox families living in antique well kept houses ?
Plenty of such houses dot Tamilnadu villages and such people are not mirages .
In fact many Tamil films show such families in technicolour so why get agitated ?
Of course if the cast or makers had a couple of Tamil names you guys would accept it .
As it is I would recommend this film to all and mind you I spent my childhood in most conservative backyard of Tamilnadu .
