Some days we are directed by some power towards some we never would plan to meet otherwise .
That's the wind of destiny .
In our road trip yesterday on 20 th February we reached the temple town of Trichendur by afternoon checked into our booked hotel .
Being a Saturday we had heard the famous Murugan temple would be quite crowded .
My co brother had called us casually then and when we told this he said his advocate friends aunt was a senior doctor in Tiruchendur and he could find out if she could help us .
After some time he called us back to give us a number of someone attached to the temple who would help us there ,and that the doctor had also requested us for dinner at her house too !
The temple visit was a great success in the evening ,we had an excellent darshan and enjoyed a walk in the crowded breezy beach too .
Trichendur temple is on the seaside ..
We returned to our hotel and by 7.30 pm went to the doctors nursing home and house .
Dr Pancy Daniel was a 75 year old gem of the medical profession .
To us both being in medical field such dedicated seniors are an inspiration .
Soft spoken ,and kind she had a busy out patient even at 8pm on a saturday .
We were welcomed by her family .
Actually she was single and her family I mentioned were her staff ,and those who had been with her for decades .
One was the the temple priest who took us .
He had been a part of doctors larger family since he was in high school as his mother worked with her was still working and also staying in the hospital and his father a priest in temple too was also staying here .
Most of the staff were all staying there too .
There were an assorted medley of different people who not only pampered us with thier hospitality but took care of dr madam as she recently had a fracture arm by an accident .
We both were served a tasty homely dinner with Dr Pancy and others urging us to take more .
Iam yet to find such hospitality in any place I visited recently .
There was so much love in the air .
Love of familiarity, of dedication ,and respect to an individual ,who after years of Goverment service had resigned on a principle ,went on to build a hospital for the rural town she stayed ,served the people day and night for years ,transformed lives of many ,and now has a family of staff and friends who would do anything for this doctor madam of thiers ,quietly and with no fanfare .
Such relationships are true, genuine ,and human .
And as we returned home from seeing this graceful lady we felt we had seen a God in the evening in the temple and later one in the hospital too
Dr Pancy Daniel .
Gods are not only in temples
Some are amongst us .
