Kallil Bhagavathy Temple




Kalil Bhagavathy temple is 12 km from Perumbavoor .
The way to it is hilly ups and downs .
Its a cave temple with 120 steps to be climbed to reach it .
Its said to be originally a jain temple .
Rock carved images of 23 th Thirthankara Parsavanatha 24th Thirthankara Mahavira and Padmavathi devi who is supposed to be worshipped as Bhagavathy by the locals are present .
Its traditionally owned by kalil pisharody family
Kalil means in stone as deity is inside a rock cave .
This was our final temple for the day .
