Gabala Azerbaijan
while Azerbaijan has earned a bad name by thier support to Pakistan post Pahalgam tragedy we went before this
we had no such inkling ,the tourists were all from India half from north and rest from Kerala !
there were around 4 or 5 kerala groups on at same time .
Just shows they dont care for this tourist intrest but are closer by religion to Pakistan .
Since We had gone its as well to describe the place
the tour has three parts one Baku capital city
second Gobustan with mud volcanoes and flame mountain and fire temple
Third is the slightly elevated Gabala with winnery cable car a palace Hyderali auditorium Gabala town itself and noorhan lake .
It was not very cold in day time but was pleasant by evening .
The cable car ride was nothing much to talk of built in two levels not much to see on top .
Lake was not bad
the palace lame compared to our glorious ones but we should not compare .
The winnery was nice we bought some Azerbaijan wines and a mulberry vodka .
liqour in Azerbaijan is cheap and available easily strange for a muslim country obviously due to their Soviet past .
We stayed one night in a beautiful heritage hotel in Gabala had an Azerbaijan lunch too .
