Many in my generation would wait for the monthly tamil Ambilimama in Madras for a feast of mythological stories fairy tales and series Vikram betal .
Later came english version Chandamama and i remember finding a bound collection in a friends house which he lend to me .
In 1952 it was released in malayalam as Ambuliammavan .
It was in 1947 that it was started by film magnate Nagi reddy in Telugu first .
The family owned it till 2007 when they sold it Geodesic who wanted to publish in digitsl form but now its folded up due to litigation .
Sankar was one of its earliest illustrators who worked till recently passed away now .
